Oven Baked Carrot Fries

These carrot fries are perfect for a mid-afternoon snack or to serve as a side dish! Super easy and ready within 25 minutes! Toddler and BLW approved!

I started making these carrot fries when my stubborn daughter (she gets it honest) would not take baby puree. We were stuck with her trying finger foods and doing a more BLW approach. Carrots came up on the list and I found cutting and baking them were best. She still loves them to this day! I hope you enjoy!

Servings: 2
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of baby carrots
  • Drizzle of olive oil
  • Kosher salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cut baby carrots into quarters lengthwise.
  3. Put the carrots into a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Stir to coat.
  4. Spread them out on a single layer on a baking sheet. Be sure not to overcrowd.
  5. Place in oven for 10 minutes, stir/flip and cook for another 10 minutes.
  6. Season with Kosher salt. Serve and enjoy warm.

Notes:

  • If you are preparing this for a baby/toddler, be light on the salt or omit completely.
  • If you want to make them more "fancy", season with some paprika and garlic powder.
  • To make them more sweet, coat with some brown sugar before baking.
  • Store in an airtight container for 3-5 days in the fridge. You can store the raw cut carrots for up to 5 days in the fridge to save on prep time.
